The Maroon Bells Circle

Many nonprofits in our area have national councils. The Maroon Bells Circle is a national council that’s in keeping with the spirit of the Wilderness Workshop.

WW has always been a grassroots group. Our organizational personality is informal, outdoorsy, feisty…maybe a little irreverent. We’re not a fancy bunch. Think of our founders, Connie, Joy and Dottie – the Maroon Belles – no-nonsense women who’d prefer a campfire under the stars to a ballroom dinner any day.

The Maroon Bells Circle is a high-level supporter network, but it's not built around one or two big gala events each year. Rather, it offers a series of what we call “Campfires” – intimate, neighborhood gatherings at private homes – as well as activities such as guided hikes and overnights. Members may attend any or all events.

The Maroon Bells Circle provides the Wilderness Workshop with the bedrock, strategic support that’s crucial to any long-term, science-based, bureaucracy-defying conservation work. Since its founding in 2007, the Circle has grown to more than 50 couples and individuals, and we're truly grateful for the generosity and enthusiasm of these members.

Membership in the Maroon Bells Circle is open to those who commit to giving (or raising) $2,000 or more to WW annually. This figure may also be met through hosting a fundraising party or other in-kind donations. If you would like to be part of the Circle, please contact Dave Reed at (970) 963-3977 or dave@wildernessworkshop.org.
